WBENC Approves Murphy Construction Company!

March 22nd, 2018

Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs. WBENC offers a unique advantage to helping women owned business grow their capacity. It allows corporate members to compete in “real-time business opportunities.”

“WBENC Certification validates that the business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. To achieve WBENC Certification, women owned businesses complete a formal documentation and site visit process which is administered by one of WBENC’s 14 Regional Partner Organizations. WBENC Certification gives women owned businesses the ability to compete for real-time business opportunities provided by WBENC Corporate Members and government agencies.”

The process of attaining this certification was hard fought. Especially in the typically male-dominated field of construction. Their process is grueling, and for good reason. It’s meant to eliminate companies who attempt to abuse the benefits that the membership includes. Proving to the WBENC that a woman was at the helm of our ship took a lot of questioning, paperwork, and proof. Our determination won in the end, and we have been granted special access to unprecedented business opportunities.

We are immensely proud of our fearless leader, a strong wife, mother, and most importantly, accomplished business women. She’s been in the business for nearly 30 years and was there for the conception of Murphy Construction Company. Proving that major passion & dedication can open doors and allow you a seat at the table as “Madame President.”
